I will always use my voice for our community

Speaking at the BLM March in Holly Springs.

public servant and advocate

In 2019, the people of Holly Springs entrusted me with the wellbeing of their town and their families when they elected me to represent them on the Holly Springs Town Council. Over the past two years, I’ve worked hard for the people of Holly Springs, while pushing the town forward in new ways, through collaboration with my colleagues and by listening to the community.

Despite being in the minority, I was able to work with the other council members to find common ground in unlikely places. I was able to commission the first housing affordability study in town history. We instituted a body-worn camera program for our police department and made our town development ordinances solar power friendly. I recommended the creation of a Landfill Committee to work with our residents and Wake County to find a solution to the South Wake Landfill odor problem and the formation of a Legislative Action Committee to better coordinate with our partners at the county, state, and federal levels. And we did all this, while balancing our tax base and securing huge economic wins.

Also, only three months into my term, we had to deal with an unprecedented pandemic. I responded by recommending the allocation of unused to town funds to non-profit partners so they could support and feed the community and increased our annual non-profit grant funding. I also pushed hard for town-wide mask mandates to protect the public.

Outside the council chambers, I’ve my voice to advocate for a safer, fairer community. In 2018, as a featured speaker at March for Our Lives - Raleigh, I spoke on the need to come together and put aside our preconceived differences to keep our community and our kids safe. Later that year, I spoke at the General Assembly in support of red flag laws and other common-sense firearms legislation. In 2020, I spoke again at the Black Lives Matter march in Holly Springs on the destructive power of racism and the valuable role our police play in keeping our entire community safe.

When I see a need in our community or an issue that needs fixing, I will never be afraid to step up, speak out, and do the work that needs to be done.

Veterinarian and small business owner

As a veterinarian, I have dedicated my career to caring for those who can’t care for themselves, and the people who love them. I’ve learned to attack the disease and not the symptoms, getting to the root cause of problems so that they don’t creep up in the future. And I’ve helped my clients through the worst of times, whether its saying goodbye to a beloved furry family member or helping them figure out how they are going to afford a costly treatment.

As a small business owner, I have experience working within a budget, making strategic investments when margins are tight, planning for the short and long term, and making the tough decisions that must be made. And as employers, we’ve striven to treat our employees with the respect, consideration, and care they deserve by providing a living age, access to healthcare, paid sick and a family leave, retirement saving opportunities, and free mental health and financial counseling services.

I know, firsthand, the pressures put upon small business, their employees, and the people they serve, and will always be their advocate.

Proof that we will do anything for our kids.

husband and father

My wife, Jess, is my partner in love, parenting and business. She is the backbone of our family and the big boss at the office. When we made the decision to move to Holly Springs to start a business and provide a better life for our kids, we never could have predicted what an amazing community we would come to call our own. We cannot imagine a better place to raise and family and grow a business. But for too many families in town, success and stability remains a struggle. The pandemic has shone a spotlight on the gaps into which too many families can slip.

As a father of two young children and the owner of a family run business, I understand the concerns and needs of families in Holly Springs. The health, happiness, and wellbeing of my family and yours will be my first consideration when making any decision for our town.
